Zero Waste Hale is Maui's first zero-waste and eco-refill shop, founded by Ashley Bowman and rooted in the lush upcountry community of Haʻikū. Ashley created the shop to show her neighbors that living plastic-free doesn't have to be complicated or expensive. The airy store is stocked with sustainable daily essentials — from bulk laundry soap refills and compostable products to reusable household goods and natural personal care items. Zero Waste Hale also shows up at local farmers markets, bringing the zero-waste movement directly to the community. Women-owned and community-driven, it stands as a testament to the idea that small islands can lead the way toward a cleaner, more circular future.
